The Arizona State Fair’s First-Ever Nightly Drone Show Has Officially Made History

The Arizona State Fair’s first-ever nightly drone show has officially made history — and lit up the Phoenix sky in spectacular fashion. Presented by Skyworx Drone Shows, one of the nation’s premier drone entertainment companies, the innovative performance became an instant crowd favorite, drawing tens of thousands of amazed spectators each night.

From September 19 through 28, 300 synchronized drones danced across the night sky between 8:15 and 9:15 PM, telling the story of the Arizona State Fair in a breathtaking aerial display. The shows transformed the skyline into a living canvas — celebrating Arizona’s heritage through light, motion, and music.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled with how the shows were received,” said Taylor Woodall, CEO of Skyworx Drone Shows. “The Arizona State Fair has been a tradition since 1884, and to help write a new chapter in that legacy through drone storytelling was an incredible honor.”

The dazzling performances combined cutting-edge precision with creative artistry, setting a new standard for live fair entertainment. Beyond their visual impact, the drone shows also underscored a sustainable shift — offering a greener, quieter alternative to fireworks while still delivering unforgettable moments that captivated fairgoers of all ages.

Founded in 1884, the Arizona State Fair remains one of the Grand Canyon State’s most cherished traditions. Hosted annually at the historic fairgrounds in Phoenix, the event celebrates Arizona’s culture through music, food, rides, and community spirit — and this year, thanks to Skyworx Drone Shows, the skies joined the celebration in a way no one will forget.
